God's Standards

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.

This is the standard to which we are to measure all our thoughts. If something isn't true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy, it should have no place in our minds or in our lives. God calls us to a high standard of living -- holiness. God knows what's best for our lives and our relationship with Him, so maybe we should listen to His standard more often instead of our own or our friends'.
