The Old Has Gone, The New Has Come

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Sometimes we forget who we are in Christ and start living life as who we are in ourselves, which isn't much of anything when compared to Christ. We are no longer slaves to the world, to our sinful habits or even to ourselves. No, we belong to God and through His power at work in our lives we can live lives that reflect a new creation, a new work He's doing in our lives to teach us how to be more like Him. It doesn't say you "will be" a new creation, as if it takes place sometime in the distant future. Rather, it says you already are a new creation, right here and now. Maybe you should start living like it.

What in your life is still not very Christ-like and how can you turn over that area to God? What do you need to do through God's strength to more clearly reflect the new creation that you already are?
